Caldwell

I'm gonna switch the style up for this month's release. Let's explore my soul roots. I grew up listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic then I progressed into rap with Tupac, Dre, and that whole west coast vibe. My taste was all over the place, all music is my heartbeat. Funny thing is, in the hip-hop genre my heroes ended up sampling their heroes. It wasn't to be lazy, it was to remix and honor. It pointed backwards and powered forward. That fascinates me.

Today I find myself staring into the murky fog of racial tension. There's no place for it. Our souls are knit together as humans and our outward appearance is just a paint color. We're all beautiful, unique paintings with much deeper meaning than the visual aspect alone.

Martin Luther King said, "Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness."

We have a choice, individually. I am the only person I can control. And I choose to love, without borders.
