I kept hearing pieces of this song playing under conversations. Little did I know, I'd be swooning over it. I think I was in a parking lot when I finally paid attention and LOST MY MIND. It's a masterpiece. Like, truly. You know how some songs just fit perfectly into your head. Like it's creating the problem, but also the solution?

Anyhoo. This song lingered in my mind over some time. I remember the night I pulled it into Ableton. Wifey was mesmerized binging trash tv, so I thought I'd take a swing at a remix. Two hours in, I had the core and was aching with happiness. This song conquered the world. I would have given my left pinky toe to have been in London when they first played together. Sam anxiously said, "We'll see how it goes." to 80,000 people in London Stadium, stemming from the fact that it was about to be the literal first time they'd ever performed the song live.

The story goes that Sam had already finished the album and sent it to Olivia to get to pick a song to sing on. Must say, her choice and songwriting was genius. That verse of hers is bliss. It only became the friggin anthem of the year in many ways. But almost in an if-you-know-you-know kind of way. Honestly, maybe it's just an I-live-under-a-rock kind of way. Sigh.
